Interview with Sylvia Smith

Granddaughter of uninvited guests to Treaty 6 territory (Saskatchewan), now teaching highschool students in Ottawa. Growing up on a farm and in the church; work and hierarchical culture. Decolonising curriculum. Empowering students by teaching about power and truth. Putting "I'm Sorry" into action. Indian and residential schools, and the Indian and Residential Schools Commemoration Project. Learning to take different stances than family, friends, community; and teaching students to do the same. Embracing contradiction. "You can't have a lot of wealth without a lot of poverty"
