For Montreals Head and Hands, Funding Cuts Mean Less Hands

The organization Head and Hands, which hads provided medical, legal and social services to Montreal youth, has been unable to provide Street Work services. Every year the organization's street workers have worked towards Hepatitis C and HIV prevention by distributing hundreds of clean needles and thousands of condoms. They have also provided education and support to countless youth who otherwise may not have accessed their services. This was the only program of its kind in NDG; it enabled them to offer full time non-judgmental and harm reductive services to their clients. CKUT's Mash interviewed with Juniper Belshawk, who works as the fundraising and development coordinator to get some more insight on this issue.
