Wintermitts touring coast-to-coast in May/June
Bilingual Vancouver pop outfit touring May 18-June 3 to promote their new album Océans
Vancouver indie-pop band Wintermitts will be touring cities across Canada in late May &
early June to promote their latest album Océans. Called a "jangly, horn-laden love affair
between French Cabaret pop and rain-swept Pacific Northwest folk" (Francois Marchand,
Vancouver Sun), Océans is Wintermitts' most ambitious album to date. Songs move freely
between French and English lyrics, and feature eclectic instrumentation (accordion,
glockenspiel, brass, banjo, and more!) not often found in a contemporary pop context.
Wintermitts’ Océans tour will hit 13 cities over 16 days:
May 18 – Kamloops @ The Art We Are
May 19 – Calgary @ Palomino (Beatroute & CJSF Shakeout 2012)
May 20 – Edmonton @ Wunderbar
May 21 – Regina @ The Artful Dodger (w/ Indigo Joseph)
May 22 – Winnipeg @ Lo Pub (w/ Mitten Claps)
May 24 – Sudbury @ The Townehouse
May 25 – Toronto @ Tranzac (w/ Language Arts)
May 26 – Montréal @ Café Campus
May 27 – Wakefield @ Black Sheep Inn (all ages afternoon show!)
May 29 – Halifax @ Gus'
May 30 – Moncton @ Plan B (w/ Old Tyme Machine)
May 31 – Québec @ Bal du Lézard
June 2 – Montréal @ the Hint Media Showcase
We're writing to let you know that Vancouver indie-pop band Wintermitts (www.wintermitts.com) will visit the lovely city of Sudbury as part of a cross-country tour to promote our newest release, Océans. We'll be stopping by on May 24 to play at The Townehouse with local pals Lauren Mann & The Fairly Odd Folk, and we'd be really grateful if you'd help us let folks know.
