Join ‘Grassroots Sudbury Media Collective’ for a morning of workshops.  Lara Bradley (former Sudbury Star journalist) will share story writing and interview skills, while Cait Mitchell (photographer) will share photography and photo essay skills.

10:30:  Alternative Media (Scott Neigh):   what is alternative media, and how does it differ from main stream media

10:45:  Journalism Intensive (Lara Bradley): A workshop on writing well, interviewing techniques, and codes of conduct.

12:00:  break for snacks and conversation (snacks provided)

12:30:  Creating photo essays (Cait Mitchell):  Photographs are powerful ways to collect and disseminate information.  The photo-essay is inherently influenced by the decisions made and opinions held by the photographer. Through this workshop we aim to better understand how to approach the telling of stories through photographs.
