Vera Wulff: A Play

The Greater Sudbury Heritage Museums, Jain & Associates and the Copper Cliff Italian Club are pleased to present Brunch and Theatre as part of the Copper Cliff Reunion on Sunday, July 22 at 11am. Taking place at the Italian Club in Copper Cliff, admission is $16.

Vera Wulff is a play about three local women and their experiences during the Second World War. Elizabeth Dumencu was one of the first women to be employed by International Nickel. Her story is important in the history of the area and the country. Women were given the opportunity to show that they could do the same work that men did and earn the same pay. Gertrude Lowe’s story is of a German War bride, her challenges and her eventual settling in Sudbury.
