At 7am this morning, police arrived at the Westover site where demonstrators have been blockading since last Thursday.
Police arrived at the gate with four arrest wagons and a dozen or so cruisers to arrest those who have defied a court-issued injunction that was served yesterday at the site. The injunction deemed that Enbridge was authorized to ask police assistance to remove all those who were deemed unauthorized to be on the site.
Estimates say that ten people have been arrested. At the time of reporting, there are still people who are locked down and barricaded themselves at the back of the site. Police arrived with construction machinery, assumedly to remove them from their posts. We are still waiting to learn more about how they are doing as the story develops.
