Climate Justice Issue Launches

Across Canada, people are organizing launches of A People's Forecast: The Climate Justice Issue. Join them to talk to about how we can shift the debate on climate change from one based on profit, environmental exploitation and burning oil, coal and fossil fuels to one based on building a more just, equitable society in balance with the world around us.

Featuring content from across Canada and tackling everything from the front line struggles of Indigenous communities to the fight for true 'green' energy in Ontario, from the fight against blood coal in Nova Scotia to the interconnection of gender and climate justice, the issue digs deep into how people are challenging conventional approaches to climate change.

Launch of The Dominion's Special Issue on Climate Justice

Featuring the shocking film exposé of the Alberta Tar Sands: H2Oil

"Over half of Alberta’s tar sands oil goes to the US, making Canada the single largest foreign supplier of oil to the United States. As popular uprisings unfold across the Middle East, Prime Minister Stephen Harper is trying to facilitate oil exports to the US by making them tax-free, arguing that the US needs “secure” oil from its stable northern allies. Over the past forty years, exploration and production of crude oil from Alberta’s tar sands have spiked in tandem with various wars and occupations involving Canadian and US military."
-quoted from Maryam Adrangi & SK Hussan's article in A Peoples' Forecast
