New Report: Tar sands, from Canada to Trinidad & Tobago

As communities in Canada and the US prepare to respond to a call for solidarity from Unist’ot’en and Grassroots Wet’suwet’en people fighting the imposition of gas and tar sands pipelines on their lands on Tuesday, folks in Trinidad and Tobago's capital are also planning a demonstration at the Canadian Embassy in solidarity and rejection of the world's dirtiest oil.

Tar Sands in T&T? is a report which was launched this fall in Trinidad and Tobago. It documents what the extraction of tar sands would mean for T&T, looks at the history of resistance to mega projects (including an ongoing highway struggle) and examines Canada's role in promoting tar sands in Trinidad (here's a clue: the Royal Bank).
