Dear members,

All year round, we tell you that here at the Media Co-op, you Own Your Media. This is the time of year that it shows the most!

We're excited to announce that our 2013 Annual General Meeting, bringing together folks from coast to coast, will be taking place on Oct. 17, 2013 at 6pm EST. That's where we'll be voting in new board members (your representatives at the co-op), adopting our budget, reviewing the previous year and discussing the future of the Media Co-op.

More details on how to join in for our AGM are below, but first a few other ways that you can get involved in the Co-op before then.

Nominations for the Board of Directors: 
Love the Media Co-op? Got some great ideas and energy you want to bring to the table? Have a few hours to lend every month? Then you should run for a position on our Board of Directors. We're looking for representatives from Halifax, Montreal and Toronto, as well as a reader representative. You can nominate yourself, or any other member of the Co-op.

Member motions for the AGM: 
Have an idea you want discussed at our AGM? Have a policy you think we should consider? Members can submit motions for the AGM. Just click here for more details.

Participatory budget: 
Our priorities are often reflected in the budget choices we make. So here's your chance to help us get our priorities straight! Participate in our second-ever participatory budget. It just takes about 15 minutes of your time: rate our different spending categories, and make suggestions by leaving comments. We'll be taking all your feedback into account when we present our budget at the AGM.

All of this will culminate with our 2013 AGM, being held in Montreal at 6pm EST on Oct. 17th, at the 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy at 2110 Mackay St.

Not in Montreal? No worries! There will be local meet-ups across the country where you can get together with other Media Co-op members and participate by phone and by video chat, or you can join us from the comfort of your own home.

Local meet-ups will be taking place in Halifax, Sudbury, Toronto and Vancouver. We'll be posting more details as they come at http://mediacoop.ca/AGM2013.
