Site 134 says, "We're still here."
A pow wow for unity and healing.

Elsipogtog/Nov. 3 2013 -- A pow wow for unity and healing will be held at Site 134 at 2pm today, Nov. 3. The event will bring together Mi'kmaq people and celebrate Mi'kmaq tradition. It is an opportunity for people to gather on the site and show that the fight against SWN is not over, and for people to reunite in the struggle against shale gas exploration. It is also being organized as a place to heal our spirits in the face of RCMP repression.

"We wanted to organize this pow wow because spirits have been low. We're holding this pow wow at the site to bring people back, to show people we're still here and still fighting," says Haley Bernard, a Mi'kmaq youth and one of the pow wow's organizers. "We want to bring back our community and bring some healing, and to bring people here from all nations."

Starting at 2pm, there will be a full day of dancing, drumming competition and welcoming of other nations, including Haudenosaunee and Cherokee.
