Forty Years After the Coup in Chile

September 11 2013 marks the forty year anniversary of the US-backed coup d'état against Chilean President Salvador Allende.

Quebec-based photographer, writer and translator Federico Barahona is in Santiago de Chile, the nation's capital, and shared some of his images with the Media Co-op.

Federico Barahona is associate editor at SNEEZE Magazine. His photographs of the 2012 Quebec student strike appeared in Briarpatch Magazine. Barahona holds a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from the University of BC, as well as a Master of Arts in journalism from the same institution. View his website here.
