Haiti: Guns or Food?

Haiti

As aid starts to trickle in, and the extent of the horror becomes known, decisions are already being made that will affect the Haiti that emerges from this. Ansel Herz reports live from Port-Au-Prince on the role that the deployed US troops are playing, while author Peter Hallward weighs in on the role that the US has played in Haiti's recent history and shares his concerns that post-earthquake Haiti will further cement the domination of the Haitian people by foreigners.

re: Haiti: Guns or Food?

At least the people of the world are helping the Haiti people to recover from this. With this experience, the people will be able to learn something from what had happened. I just hope that this will not only for now but also the helping to the other countries will continue until the end. Everyone is helping from ordinary people, to government officials and artist and actors to even some of the show like the American Idol. The recent victor of the special Senate Election in Massachusetts, Scott Brown, has something in common with American Idol – besides that no one really cares. Scott Brown has a daughter, Ayla Brown that was a contestant in the fifth season of Idol, and reached the Top 16. That said, Idol has not promised to be another dog in the manger, as Brown has, for Obama's health care bill. It seems any payday loans from Big Pharma and Big Insurance have been well spent. That said, perhaps this will be the big boost her career needed.
