On May 31, six people were arrested after refusing to leave the last Bus between Regina and Saskatoon on the closing day of the Saskatchewan Transportation Company.

Regina City Coun. Andrew Stevens posted in support on Twitter,  at one point saying "civil disobedience is important.". In an interview late that day, Mayor Michael Fougere responded that "There is never ever a time for civil disobedience".

"We don't want to talk about a civil disobedience. That crosses a line that I don't accept as mayor and I don't think anyone would accept it as a rational way to go about protesting."

In an interview with CBC News, Florence Stratton of the group Making Peace Vigil called Fougere's comment "highly dangerous", organizers who were involved in Occupy Regina's civil disobedience campaign also agree.

The rally will take place at the Gandhi statue in front of city hall at 10 AM on Monday June 5.
